What do you get when you put skateboarding legend Bucky Lasek and phenom Mitchie Brusco together on a set?  Pantech USA wanted to find out when they cast their skateboarding duo to promote Pantech’s latest smartphone, the Pantech Flex.

These pretzels are making me thirsty

Because of when they wanted this commercial to run, we had just under two weeks to be rolling from the time we pitched the idea to the client.  It was a mad dash to say the least to gather the location, props and crew.

We turned to Mellen Productions to help us secure a location.  They had several options for us within a few days including a couple of fortune tellers who were willing to let us film at their place of business.  Oddly enough, we found a beautiful little home in Inman Park that was better suited for what we envisioned the set to be.

As soon as we walked into the place, we knew this was where we wanted to be.  The house was filled with all kinds of retro artwork, musty furniture and eclectic finishes that would fit perfectly into the set.

Our biggest challenge was space.  The majority of filming was taking place in a 15’x20′ room so there was a lot of set moving depending on where we needed to have the camera dolly.  My good friend and DP, Barry Dycus of Peachtree Films and his crew did a masterful job of making everything work.
